Description

James L. Murtagh Auctioneers are delighted to offer for sale by Public Auction this c.58.5 acre top quality farm at Dooraheen, Castletown Geoghegan, Co. Westmeath (in one or more lots). The property in the main section is arranged in one large neat division with natural hedgerows providing shelter. These lands are well-suited for both grazing and tillage, having been ploughed in the past. Their layout also makes them ideal for paddock grazing. Recently reseeded, the fields are in permanent pasture with minimal waste, aside from a small section of rough grazing in the southeast of the folio. The property includes the remains of a traditional stone dwelling, along with farm buildings such as a round-roofed shed, a three-bay hayshed, and a lean-to.
The subject property is located in the townland of Dooraheen, approximately 2km southwest of Castletown Geoghegan. Castletown Geoghegan is a small village located in County Westmeath. It's nestled within the scenic midlands of the country and has a strong connection to Irish history and culture. The subject lands are located on the L5230 with several access points and within easy access of major road networks including N52 and M6. The lands are located less than 9km from Kilbeggan where the M6 is accessed, 16km to Mullingar and 37km to Athlone.
Directions: From Castletown Geoghegan, head southwest of the L5230 at St. Michael's Church towards Doraheen. Continue on that road for approximately 2km and the lands will be in the left hand side clearly identified by our James L. Murtagh sales boards.
