Boora Village, Boora

boora is a rural settlement which is located in a highly scenic area. The Lough boora Parklands which are designated as an area of high amenity, has rehabilitated an area of 5,000 acres of cutaway bog into extensive open parkland. The Parklands currently comprise wetlands, fishing lakes, 50km of walkways, deciduous and coniferous forestry and pastureland. This fine 0.5 acre site is located in boora, on the Cloghan-Blueball Road (R357) and is contained within the 'sraid' envelope. A 'sraid' is a small rural settlement which is suitable for moderate population and service provision growth over the medium to long term. Offaly County Council has been proactive in the preparation of 'sraid' plans which are intended to act as an incentive to guide a portion of rural housing to small settlements which small scale community and commercial facilities and services. This area is serviced by a private group water supply scheme and consent for connection will be required by both Offaly County Council and the Rahan group water scheme.
